Everyone participating in the Duke AI Hackathon event is required to agree to this Code of Conduct, including all participants, volunteers, staff, partners and speakers.
Duke University and the Duke AI Hackathon believe that every person has the right to participate within a safe, respectful, inclusive and welcoming environment. We do not tolerate harassment of participants, volunteers, partners or staff in any form. Anyone who violates this Code of Conduct may be expelled from the event space at the sole discretion of the event organizers.
Harassment includes but is not limited to offensive verbal or written comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, social class or economic status. Additional forms of harassment include deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, disruption of talks or other events, or inappropriate physical contact.
We expect participants to follow these rules at all hackathon venues as well as in any online interactions related to the event, including before, during and after the event.If you are being harassed or notice that someone else is being harassed, please contact the event organizers immediately at ai_hackathon@duke.edu or report it to the volunteers’ table at the event.
All reports will be handled with strict confidentiality. Event organizers can help participants contact campus security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event.

The hackathon will be held November 1-3, 2024 in-person at Wikinson building, Duke University. Please check the schedule page for more information about specific locations by time.
If you are able, options other than parking are encouraged (ride sharing, etc.).Visitor parking can be found at the Duke Parking & Transportation website.
Yes it is! We expect all participants to be on site for at least the kickoff and judging portion of the event.
It is on First Come First Serve basis (FCFS) and only the top 300 registrations would be considered.
This hackathon is a free, in-person event open to students from any university in the US.
Teams can be formed before or during the event. Teams can choose any one of the tracks available on the main page.
We hope you’ll choose us for your first hackathon! This event is open to students from any major, and has a beginner track for new hackers. We are encouraging students from both technical and non-technical backgrounds to attend. We will provide helpful resources to help get beginners up and going.
Unfortunately, Duke and the event sponsors will not sponsor travel to and from the event.
